Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may know I am taking part in an event called “The Fight” http://www.facebook.com/#!/TheFightBelfast. This is a unique event organised by a PR company, I Love Mondays (http://www.ilovemondays.net) and facilitated by White Collar Boxing Ireland (http://www.whitecollarboxing.ie/whitecollarboxing-ie/). This consists of 8 weeks of gruelling boxing training, then a “Fight Night” in the Europa Hotel on 10 March in front of 700 people. The main reason I am putting myself through this is to raise money for charity, however please note that the event itself is not a charity event, therefore the only way to donate money to the charity is through this page. The advantage of this is that every penny you give goes directly into the charity's bank account.
The charity I have chosen to represent is the Oasis Village Trust, a small local charity that is building an orphanage in Ndola, Zambia, providing a safe and loving environment for children. As they plan to open as early as possible in 2012 these funds will help complete the construction and provide for the children who will live there; £10 would feed two children for a month; £20 will pay for books, uniform, and school fees for one child for a year; and £1700 would build a new chalet, giving 10 more orphans a better start in life - http://www.oasisvillagetrust.com/index.html. Geoff and Annalisa tirelessly organise fundraising here in their spare time; Ziso and Nicki run the charity on the ground in Ndola; all are family friends and the work they do is truly inspirational, I would encourage you to visit the website and see the difference they make. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
