Mat's RNLI - May Day Page

New Forest Triathlon · 6 May 2018
So I have always wondered why the RNLI was not state funded..?And then when we were in Devon, I spent a lot of time finding out about the organisation and the members that make it up. The work that they do is humbling and the volunteers are so brave. And they do not even get given the kit to save people's lives. The RNLI has to fund raise, through the May Day campaign. So you have all been to the beach before - you probably know someone who has had to be helped by the RNLI. The least we can do, is to give these courageous men and women the equipment to do their job. So give generously - and think about the RNLI - not just this summer on the beach - but in the middle of the stormy night in the winter...

I am doing my first triathlon - other than the warm-up session with Sophie in Lanzarote last month. It is Olympic length. 1.5km open water swim, 40km bike ride and then a 10km run. It is in the New Forest, on the 6th May. It starts at 07:00 - registration at 05:30 - so see you at the sign-in tent !!
