London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·

We operate a club in Easter and summer holidays, providing places for 40 children daily between the ages of 3-19. Thumbs Up Club provides a safe, inclusive, environment where children and young people with disabilities can laugh, play, and build friendships - experiences that every child deserves.

Story

Hi,

I've always wanted to run the London Marathon and on April 28th I finally get my chance. I've done plenty of half marathons, but never a full one, so am really looking forward to seeing how I get on.

As part of running London, I wanted to raise some funds for Thumbs Up Club - a small local charity who support disabled children and their families through the provision of a holiday club at Addingtons Special School. I have a personal connection to the charity as my autistic son Harry attends and we also personally know some of the fantastic young people who run the sessions at the Club. At a time when councils are continually cutting disabled services, the Club is invaluable to many families with special needs children like us. You can find out more about the charity through the link below.

The charity don't have a big income and so any donation you are able to make, however small, would be really appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matt
