Story

COAST TO COAST WALK FOR THE COLONEL'S FUND GRENADIER GUARDS

Matthew Ellmer is employed by the Colonel's Fund as the Regimental Casualty Officer. Currently and due to the kindness of those that have previously raised and given money to the fund and those that continue to do so, he is currently helping to support and look after the needs of 18 bereaved families and 72 former Grenadiers with life changing physical and mental injuries sustained through their service.

With Andy Green as his walking partner, Matt will be leaving St Bees in Cumbria on Wednesday 2nd September 2020. Using Alfred Wainwright’s famous route as guidance they will walk through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks to Robin Hood’s Bay in Yorkshire, arriving there after 16 days and 192 miles on Thursday 17th September.

Money raised from this walk will go to the Colonel’s Fund and if you feel that you could spare some for such an important and worthwhile cause, it will be very much appreciated by Matt and Andy and more importantly by those in need that will benefit from your generosity.

The Colonels Fund (https://www.grengds.com/colonels-fund) is a Registered Charity and forms part of The Grenadier Guards Charity, No 1062257.

Thank you,

Matt & Andy
