Montane Lakeland 50 · 27 July 2019

Every working day in the UK two construction workers take their own life. We are the only charity providing emotional, physical and financial support to the construction community through our 24/7 Helpline.

Story

This is my third time taking part in the Lakeland 50 and this year I have decided to raise money for the Lighthouse Club.

The Lakeland 50 is one of the greatest ultra trail challenges in Europe, perhaps the world. It is run over the second half of the Lakeland 100 Ultra Tour of the Lake District, completing the final 50 miles of the 100 course. This is not the easy option though by any means!

The time limit is 24 hours, it starts at the Northern End of Ullswater in the Grand Dalemain Estate before following through Howtown, Kentmare, Trout Beck, Ambleside and finally Coniston.

The Lighthouse Club is the only charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families who have suffered an injury or long-term illness or simply need a helping hand. They receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within the industry to help us continue their vital work. Shocking statistics show that there is still much work to be done to improve the safety and emotional wellbeing of our construction community, but we can only do that with your support. Please sponsor me, it really is a wonderful cause. Thank you for visiting my page!
