Story

The Sussex Heart Charity are an organisation that has been around since 1987, in this time they have supported all levels of care for cardiac patients in Sussex. From producing patient information, introducing new standards of care, purchasing innovative medical equipment and a long list of community-based projects.

I am supporting this charity as they have helped my family greatly. They have done this by providing recovery cardiac exercise classes for my nan, after she had a life threatening operation done on her heart 3 years ago, making her rehabilitation quick.

Unfortunately 1 in 4 of us will suffer from a heart problem in our future, my grandad died suddenly of a heart aneurysm earlier on this year and I myself suffer from high blood pressure, which can cause heart attacks and strokes.

For this challenge I will be attempting to cycle the height of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. To achieve this I will be cycling up White Hill, Ashford, approximately 80 times to reach a total vertical gain of 8848 metres. I am planning on completing this challenge on Saturday 27th August.

Myself and the charity would be extremely grateful for any donations you are kindly able to afford.

Many thanks in advance Matt (The Pink Pig)
