Jude the Impossible
Campaign by Just4Children (RCN 1164473)
Jude suffered a hypoxic brain injury during birth. Just4Children are asking for help to fund the therapy he needs to keep on achieving the impossible and live an amazing life against the odds.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Jude suffered a brain injury during birth. He was not expected to survive but has been fighting against the odds since the day he was born. 15 months has past and Jude is making progress however he has a long list of medical labels - among these are global developmental delay, quadriplegic cerebral palsy, vision impairment, hearing loss and problems with sleep and body temperature.

The 4 of us will be attempting to complete 2 separate challenges in order to raise money for Jude The Impossible. On 7th September we will be attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge and on 6th October the 4 of us will be attempting to complete the Chester Marathon.

James and Jenny made a promise to Jude that they would help him and support him in every way they can. The right therapy and treatment will continue to help Jude to develop giving him the best chance in life.

£40 covers a session of paediatric osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (https://www.occ.uk.com/) to help Jude to feel comfortable and happy in his body as he grows.

  • £90 pays for a session of specialist physiotherapy at MAES therapy (https://www.maestherapy.com/) which helps Jude learn to move his body independently. So far it has helped him to control his dystonic muscle spasms and start to develop head and trunk control.
  • £150 pays for a session of hydrotherapy to help Jude’s movements, senses and overall wellbeing. He is so happy and relaxed in water and we would love to be able to do this for him.
  • £320 pays for a block of 20 sessions of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at a local charity, which helps to heal and awaken damaged and dormant brain cells. After completing a block of this therapy, Jude was noticeably more alert and began to focus on and track colourful toys.
  • £350 would pay for an assessment at the Snowdrop Centre for brain injured children (https://www.snowdrop.cc), to address sensory problems, help Jude to interact with the world and assist his development as a whole
