We help people diagnosed with a brain tumour. We aim to give everyone diagnosed access to the resources that will put them back in control. We enable brain tumour patients and carers to become resilient and to utilise brain tumour support resources from all providers to their full potential.

Story

I am raising money for a major brain tumour charity that offers a unique support service to people who are coping with brain tumour. This can be said of my very own experience where I lost my Dad to a brain tumour at a fairly moderate age of 63yrs.

By raising money for a fantastic charity that helped me through a terrible period in my life we can support Brianstrust to help people affected by brain tumour. As they did for me Braisntrust improve clinical care for tumour suffers and provide co-ordinated support in search of treatment. They also offer a unique pragmatic support and advice from point of diagnosis and beyond. They can do this because of there experience battling brain cancers, unique network of advises and supporters in the medical, scientific and nursing community.

Here's some facts:

  • Over £500m is spent on cancer research in the UK, but less than 2% of that is spent on brain tumours.
  • Brain tumours reduce life expectancy by an average of 20yrs.
  • It is the bigest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40yrs.
  • There are 55,000 people in England living or beyond brain tumour diagnosis. There is enough people in England to fill 157 jumbo jets or 1057 buses.
