Story

Matt Mangan and Steve Griffiths are taking on the Madhare: Tour de Brum to help raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity.

The challenge is to cycle 300k (186miles) before the end of April. But we thought we’d make it a bit more difficult, so we’re going to do it over three days - 43 miles on April 9 and 10 and then 100 miles on April 11, on a static bike. It’s going to hurt!

Why? For more than a year, the NHS has been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 and the dedicated colleagues at Birmingham Childrens Hospital have been going above and beyond the call of duty to care for and protect some of the most vulnerable members of society. Its been an unprecedented time, and the cancellation of events has had an impact fundraising income. Your support means that Birmingham Childrens Hospital Charity will be able to continue to support its children, families and the amazing work of its NHS heroes at this critical time, and in the future. Thank you for your donation.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
