Yorkshire three peaks challenge · 7 July 2023

At Zarach we are on a mission to end bed poverty in England giving children the opportunity to engage at school and break the future cycle of poverty. So far, We have delivered over 10,000 beds to children, ensuring they get the restful sleep they need and lifting them out of bed poverty.

Story

This summer Weightmans are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The Weightmans’ Leeds office are proud to be taking part alongside the other offices, in support of our charity of the year, Zarach, on Friday 7th July 2023.

The route is a 24 mile long circuit, taking on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) all in under 12 hours.

The Leeds office have 8 participants and we are aiming to raise at least £2,000.00

Here is more information from Zarach about their work:

Many children are going to sleep hungry and cold without a proper bed of their own. Poverty is a real problem that has a significant effect on a child’s education. By providing something to eat and a good night’s sleep, we hope to give every child an equal chance to learn and succeed at school. You can help children living in poverty. Together, we can meet their basic needs, give them a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity at school. If we don’t act now, these children will remain cold, hungry and tired. We can make a difference.
