Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

The Blue Light Stair Run is an annual charity event for emergency service personnel and takes place this year in Autumn, (date to be confirmed) at the 541ft high Broadgate tower in Shoreditch, London.

Our objective will be to climb the 35 flights of stairs inside the tower wearing full fire kit and breathing apparatus to raise money for The Firefighters Charity.

We will climb 877 steps over the 35 floors in this timed event with most pairs averaging around 10 minutes to complete the challenge.

The Firefighters Charity is there to provide physical, mental and social help and support to current and former serving firefighters who we all know do an amazing job in what can be difficult and challenging circumstances.

This is our first year in which we are taking part but we saw first-hand the event take place last year and the challenge it posed for those involved. We are looking forward to this challenge and are training and preparing accordingly and would welcome your support.
