Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know I am doing the Great North Run on 18th September 2011.  This is a massive challenge for me as I have been running less than 2 years and I am by no means a "natural" runner. To be honest running 13.1 miles fills me with dread however doing it in memory of Matt (Matthew Peckett) will make it so worthwhile.

Many of you will have known Matt however some of you will not...he was a well liked and much loved close family friend who sadly passed away at the young age of 28.  He began having epileptic seizures a couple of years prior and unfortunately did not recover from a seizure in July 1998.

The consequences of epilepsy during his life were significant as was his tragic death. The Charles Sykes Epilepsy Research Trust is a local charity set up following similar circumstances and aims to find causes and cures of epiliepsy.  It is for this charity that I aim to raise much needed funds and therefore I would be grateful for your support. Please take time out to read about the charity and also give generously to what is an immense challenge for me.
