RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

The wobbly walkabout is a sponsored walk on June the 8th
from Rhyl lifeboat station to Conwy lifeboat station a distance of 25 miles ish.My aim is to raise funds for Rhyl lifeboat station to help train the crew for their new Shannon class lifeboat. Now why is the walk wobbly? I have a rare benign brain tumour (acoustic neuroma) which is destroying the nerve from my ear to my brain. As a result, I suffer from vertigo and do tend to fall over from time to time hence why the walk is wobbly (don’t worry I have my trusty stick). Why the RNLI at Rhyl? The new Shannon class ALB they are getting later in the year is a truly fantastic piece of modern engineering designed to save lives at sea. The crew at Rhyl are volunteers who risk their lives to save others, so let’s give them the best chance not only to save lives but come back safe themselves. If you happen to be in north Wales on June the 8th don’t be afraid to say hi. I’m easy to spot I’m tall the wrong side of forty with more hair on my chin than me head. Thankyou for your support any donation will make a difference and save lives.
