There are always highs and lows in life, but nothing shakes a family to the core quite as much as the word 'Cancer'.

In early Dec 21 after a routine Mammogram, my wife Lynn was called in for tests after an abnormality was found in one of her breasts. I can't describe just how it feels to hear the nurse tell you that it is almost certainly cancer, suddenly everthing becomes dark and the words said after that are a blur.

We left that day with what Lynn described as a party bag from the world's most depressing party. A gift of a hand made post surgery cushion, toiletries, colouring book and pencils, tissues, sherbert lemons and a note offering support from a small local charity of volunteers. A surgical consultant met with us the next week to discuss both the prognosis and the treatment plan.

I'm so very proud of how amazingly brave Lynn has been throughout and is now recovering well from the surgery. Although only part way through this journey, the opportunity has arisen to say just a small thank you to the Ridgeway Breast Care Support Group that we couldn't pass up.
