When my wife started working as a nurse on SCBU I didn't really know what her primary role would be. In truth I thought it would be feeding and monitoring tiny babies,until they were strong enough to go home. The reality is so much more than this...

After learning more about what the team actually do,the long hours they work,the support that they offer to families,the emotional connection that they make  with each child, and the way they devote themselves to those babies,I feel inspired to do something proactive about it,and, not being a nurse, raising money seems the next best thing to do!

Any money raised will help provide:

• Extra support with patient care and other services
• State of the art equipment or additional equipment not available through NHS funding
• The best possible environment for patients, parents, staff and visitors.

I have been running for fun for a few years and really enjoy it. A marathon is something I have always thought would be great to do,but have never really been motivated enough to do it. I feel that having the opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause is the perfect motivation!
