Universal Chance wants to develop and scale a sustainable charity model in which Universal Chance acts as a catalyst to enable self-empowerment of disadvantaged individuals and communities through the development of long term opportunities across the world.

Story

We are embarking on a 7 day trek in an attempt to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free-standing mountain.  It is our first real experience of high altitude and true mountaineering and we will encounter various climates including temperatures down to minus 25 degrees Celsius.

We are doing so in order to raise money for Universal Chance's continuing project to rebuild Buhinga Primary School in Fort Portal, Uganda. Buhinga, built for 400 students, is now home to 1,700 children. Universal Chance has been working to extend the school's capacity, repair and rebuild the unsafe and dilapidated buildings and provide sufficient, sanitary bathrooms. We want to give these enthusiastic and brilliant children a school that allows them to reach the top of their own worlds.
