matthew's The Berlin Marathon

The Berlin Marathon · 28 September 2014
After seven failed attempts to participate in The London Marathon, I am now heading to Germany to take part in another world series event marathon.
Many of you may be aware that my wife has suffered from a debilitating illness called Endometriosis for many years. She has undergone numerous treatments and surgery which included a Hysterectomy at the young age of 31. Being by her side through all the hard times made me want to one day try and raise as much money as I could for this small charity. They help women from all over the country deal with all aspects of the disease, from research, to being at the end of a phone should they need someone to talk to.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide, it's the leading cause of infertility in young women, but most of you would not even have heard of it.
I am trying to raise money to help fund research into finding a cure for this disease, and although it's too late for my wife, it might not be for our daughters and future granddaughters. www.endometriosis-uk.org
I have run many events before, never wanting to raise money as my goal was always to run a marathon as I feel I could justify your charitable donation with my blood, sweat and tears!
Please give what you can, it would mean a lot to myself, my wife and the wonderful ladies I have met along this painful journey.
Many thanks,
Matt
