Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Malawi is located in south-central Africa and has a population of 11 million people, of whom, almost one in seven are living with HIV/Aids, one of the worst rates of infection on the continent, and still rising. Each year 100,000 Malawian men, women and children die from the effects of the virus, and life expectancy is now less than 35 years. Abject poverty (the GDP is only around £400 a year per capita) means that the government is unable to stem the tide of human misery, so most of the relief work falls upon charities such as ActionAid. In 2004, Mission Malawi raised £40,000 (http://www.missionmalawi.fslife.co.uk/homeframe.htm); this year we want to raise even more.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ActionAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
