Walking from Glasgow to London · 23 July 2021

The Refugee Council is the nation’s refugee charity. Together with community groups, partners and volunteers, we help people who have escaped war and persecution to rebuild their lives, integrate into communities, and play their part in Britain.

Story

On Friday the 23rd of July I shall be walking from Glasgow to London over 17 days raising money for the Refugee Council UK. The walk is 425 miles, with an average of 25 miles per day, going down from Glasgow to Carlisle, then across to Richmond and down through Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Bedford and finally to London.

All accommodation costs have kindly been supported by the Glasgow University Sports Association, and all money donated is sent directly to the charity through JustGiving.

The money raised goes towards the Refugee Council UK, who support the resettling, education and employment of refugees coming into the UK. They are a huge employer to the NHS, they do incredible work throughout the UK, and are an incredibly deserving charity.
