Skydive & Great North Run in memory of Kevin Hall

I’ve set this page up so my kind friends and family can donate to my chosen charity Barnsley Hospice, It costs over £9,000 a day to run the hospice. They gratefully receive £1.6m from the NHS each year, but have to raise over an additional £2m to stay open, so hopefully my little fundraiser will help towards this..
I’m doing this skydive for my father Kevin Hall, my best friend, my hero.. My dad was sadly diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2012, after what seemed a long, torturous battle with the horrible disease we sadly lost my father on the 11th September 2013. My dad was truly a great, hardworking, funny gentleman.. He started out at Grimethorpe Colliery from leaving school, after the pit closed he completed his nurse training in March 1998, he then moved up the ranks throughout Barnsley Hospital where he settled in the busy A&E Dept. for 9 and half years and eventually climbed to be Lead Nurse, no doubt he will have looked after you at some point! He later moved to the Acute Medical Unit where even whilst having chemo he was helping out setting up the new ward which contributed to the ward receiving the chairman’s award at the annual hospital awards in June 2013.
Towards the end of my fathers journey he decided he wanted to go the lovely Barnsley Hospice where he would hopefully spend his last few days, unfortunately he wasn’t hanging around much longer and only spent 1 night there, although it was only a short stay the hospice staff were absolutely fantastic and treat us like family, I was able to visit 24 hours a day and nothing was too much. They made my father extremely comfortable as towards his last day he was agitated and anxious..
Like I mentioned above the hospice requires donations and fundraisers to keep it going, I’m doing this skydive because I want to give something back to the Hospice, just a little token of my gratitude for the care they provided for my dad, myself and my family. Not to mention my dad would be so proud of me doing something like this so this ones for him!
And because I’m a little daft.. I’m thinking if I’m allowed, to do the skydive wearing something stupid.. so any suggestions will be considered!!
Thanks for looking and hopefully I can say thanks for donating as well..
