Cycle the Tour de France Route 2008 · 30 November 2007
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. This ride is something that I've wanted to do for a long period of time - driving down to Spain to visit my grandparents back in the mid 80's I remember going over the Pyrennees and saying "I'd love to cycle over these some day."
Well, with the innocence of youth firmly behind me - and an insane companion to accompany me I'm going to do it. And what better way to try to raise some significant funds for charity in the process?
The Tour de France is an epic event with riders covering 3,500km in 21 days (an average of over 100 miles per day). We will be doing exactly what they do (only not as fast, and two days later) and will be supported by friends and family who will be handing out drinks, food and general encouragement over the three weeks.
So here is the link to the Tour de France route for those of you wanting to see exactly what we're taking on: http://www.letour.fr/2008/TDF/COURSE/fr/le_tour_2008.html
And here is a link to our blog which we will update with out progress: http://www.ianandmatt.blogspot.com/
Please do donate - those at Macmillan will greatly appreciate it and so will we! It keeps the motivation up!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
