I've decided to set up this Just Giving page on Matthew's behalf as we have been inundated with messages from people asking if they can donate to a charity of Matthew's choosing to support his incredible walking adventure!  A big thank you in particular to Chris Adams of Liberty Building Services who gave us the final push to set this up with a generous donation of £60 - Thank you Chrissy! 
I am so insanely proud of Matthew as he approaches the end of the path.  It hasn't been straightforward and I'm sure there could well be more obstacles to come, but in his words, "Once a scout, always a scout" so he's well prepared. 
It was a very easy decision to support the Alzheimer's Society, and for those of you who have personally been affected by it, you know how utterly cruel and heart-breaking this disease is.  It is predicted that there will be 1.5 million people in the UK suffering with dementia by 2040... Thankfully, we are closer to a cure now than ever, so if you are able to donate, even just a spare bit of shrapnel, it will be greatly appreciated.
