Story

Sponsoring somebody to cycle 10km through a forest may seem a bit odd, so we (myself and a few fellow nutters) decided to make it more exciting by doing it indoors and measuring the distance vertically. We've "everested" before, but this

takes it a bit further (to 374km horizontal and 10,023m vertical, to be precise). We're primarily doing it because it seems like a wonderfully crazy thing to try. However, we have no idea if we'll make it, so knowing that it's (also) for a good cause may give us the extra energy we're likely to need towards the end (i.e. for the last 20 hours, or so? Aaaargh.).

Why MSF? Because I've been fascinated by Yemen (purely book-based, I'm afraid) for a long time and what's going on there at the moment is a catastrophy. MSF are there to help. Help them! The target is £1 per metre of elevation. Probably a bit ambitious, but go and surprise us!

Finally: This is the 21st century, so we'll obviously live-stream this thing. Yes, on zoom. Feel free to stop by and leave a message in the chat. Kick off is on Saturday, August 22nd 2020, 6am (UK summer time) and I expect we'll be there for a while...

If all goes well, the "screen share" will show a live screenshot of the road ahead of me while you should be able to see me (and anybody else who joins the session) pedalling furiously (but less and less so as the day goes on...) at the bottom. Probably no sound since the fans (and music) are likely to drown things out anyway; and I'm unlikely to be in a chatty mood.
