Dartmoor search and rescue group not only provide a valuable lifesaving service that covers the 365 square mile of the rugged Dartmoor landscape, where many have become victims to the ever-changing conditions and challenging terrain. But they serve the whole of Devon and Cornwall, working closely with Cornwall and Exmore search and rescue, and the other emergency services.

Dartmoor search and rescue are crafted from 4 teams of volunteers, experienced and professionally trained in everything from swift water rescue and casualty care, to navigation and searching including handling search dogs.   92% of their funding is through donations. So, being an avid hiker and very much enjoying the trails that Dartmoor provide. I decided to help raise some valuable funds to this much needed and crucial local charity, though a very challenging hike.
