Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

On Sunday the 21st of April I'll be running The London Marathon!

It's my very first marathon so it's a big one and I'm very honoured to be running for Diabetes UK.

Diabetes is a disease that affects over 4 million people in the UK alone. It's a condition where the pancreas stops producing insulin (what we all need to regulate our blood sugar levels) therefore people with diabetes need to regulate this themselves through daily insulin injections and blood sugar tests. Having diabetes also opens the door to many other serious health conditions. It's a charity that means a lot personally as it is a condition that runs in my family. It currently has no cure and is still largely under researched. However, Diabetes UK is at the forefront of that research and has an incredible track-record of delivering life-changing breakthroughs. Helping people with diabetes live easier, healthier and longer lives.Their research even helped make possible the first insulin pen!

I'm aiming to raise £2000 and really need your help.

Please support me if you can, not only to raise money for Diabetes UK but also to spur me on in my training!🏃🏻‍♂️🌧️

Note: Incase you are wondering why it says 2021, the pandemic cancelled this race then I had to postpone the following two due to injuries. This will be my very first marathon ...so am very grateful for any support!

Thank you,

Matt
