Westminster House Youth Club is a charity based in Peckham, South East London. It provides purposeful activities, both recreational and educational for young people aged 8-18. The local area is beset by a range of inner city problems, e.g. drugs, gang violence, poor educational opportunities, etc. The Club aims to support young people to make positive life choices.

Story

I'm running the London Marathon to support young people aged 8-18 in my community who need fun activities, a safe and supportive place to learn, and all the opportunities that allow them to make positive life choices.

My local youth club offers children and young people the Duke of Edinburgh Award, First Aid, Fire Safety and Food Safety training, and lots of fun activities like table tennis and trampolining. Every afternoon there's a homework club. The club offers things that I took for granted but not all children can access.

Westminster House is one of the oldest youth clubs in the country. Since 1888 the Club has always worked with some of the most deprived and disadvantaged young people in the country. It's a small charity that is making a big difference in Nunhead and Peckham.

Please help me to raise £1,000, which is enough for a young person to take part in youth club three nights a week, homework club five days a week, plus training, holiday club and residential trips.
