The chances of my brother Matt, 26,  having his strain of cancer was 1 in 60 million and those who knew Matt would agree, he was a 1 in 60 million kind of person. This is Matt's story:

On the 31st May 2014, Matt was out with us at Wembley for the Groves Vs Froch fight. He was as healthy as ever having a great time. Just 3 weeks later Matt was diagnosed with cancer.

After an agonising 8 week wait with 3 biopsies Matt was told he had a rare and aggressive Sarcoma tumour growing in his chest. He was then transferred to The Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea where he was given Chemotherapy. Due to the rapid growth of the tumour his breathing became too difficult and he was induced into a coma so it could be assisted by a ventilator. After sitting by his side for two weeks we received the news from the Sarcoma experts that the Chemo was having no affect and the illness was incurable - the ventilator was switched off. The following day, 21st August 2014,  Matt passed away. In less than 3 months Matt went from loving life to being put to rest.

The Royal Marsden is an amazing, world renowned hospital and we can not thank them enough for all their care and attention. We would love to support their research and studies in memory of Matt as they continue to search for cures. Our aim is to help prevent others from going through the pain that Matt and us, his family and friends, have experienced and help cure the incurable.
