Matt Reed was Brighton Bats mixed team captain and dear friend to us all. His enthusiasm and cheeky personality was well known and much loved in our local badminton community. Earlier this year, when he was only 38, we lost this legend of a man to cancer. Myself and Rico have set up this event, as a tribute to Matt and in the hope that we can help to save others.
We will be powering through 24 hours of badminton, starting at 8pm on the 18th October at Littlehampton badminton and Squash Club. A small group of us will be there for the full 24 hours and we really need your support to keep us going.
Everyone is welcome on the day and there will be a bar upstairs for both players and supporters to enjoy. If you want to play, please let myself or Rico know when you will be there so that we can add you to the players list.
We will ask for a £5 fee from all players on the day to cover costs (hall, shuttles), otherwise all other denotations will go to Cancer research.
Please sponsor us to help makes this event a success, we will be so grateful for all donations and remember that every little helps.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Littlehampton badminton club for being so supportive and for letting us stay for 24 hours.
