BUPA Great North Run 2013 · 15 September 2013 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

The Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that funds and promotes global research into the disease and provides support for people affected by MND.

On 4th June 2013, my friend's Dad tragically passed away at the age of 49, having been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease only 8-months earlier.

Martin O’Shea served with the Corsham retained firefighters and managed the local Corsham postal sorting office before it transferred to Chippenham. Martin was an active member of many of the local football teams and a fervent supporter of Everton Football Club. A family man who had always been supportive to the community where he had always lived.

It will be an honour to complete the Great North Run in Martin's memory and in honour of the O’Shea family and their brave and tireless work to raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

So please give generously and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
