Story

Thank you all very much for your support - I have been amazed by the generosity and support shown.  After 355 miles of pain and pleasure I have finally finished my alternative triathalon

Inspiration comes from a lot of places - some weird, some wonderful all worthwhile.

I am planning on completing an alternative triathalon in 2009 to raise money for the Child Development Centre at St. Lukes.

The CDC gives us a lot of support with William, our youngest son.  William has Pierpont Syndrome which is a very rare genetic disorder - so rare that there are only a few known cases in the world.  The person who probably knows more about it than anyone is Clyde, a parent, in .  All money raised will go to this unit.

Anyway the 'triathalon' consists of :

CYCLE – DONE   Reivers route (Tynemounth to Whitehaven) 202 miles in 3 days (12th to 14th September) - that's 30 miles notched to the navigational mishap total and the Metro not taking bikes !!

RUN - DONE  Bupa Great North Run (20th September 2 hours 13 minutes !!)  flipping delighted at my time and I didn't walk at all !  Nice to see Simon and Tracey and yes I did eventually find my car !  FAB day - I even managed to beat the tree, Bananaman and the Loch Ness monster !

For those that said I was slacking having 3 weeks off I also did the Horsforth 10K - not to make this a quadrathlon but because I always promised Fen I'd do it.

WALK - DONE 140 miles in 4 days was very tough and seeing my welcome home party meeting me at Shipley and then at the end was fantastic.  Walking the Liverpool to Leeds canal was the hardest of the 3 tasks  !

355 miles in total and over £5555 pounds raised.Thank you all for your very generous support - I am truly grateful.
