Story
This year Saint Catherine's aren't able to put on the Santa Dash as they usually would due to COVID restrictions, but we are joining them in doing our own dash to raise much needed funds for the hospice.
We are indebted to both the hospice patient care & the Hospice at home team. Dad wanted to stay at home for his end of life care & we could not have managed without the hospice at home team who are there for you 24/7 & in our case it was over Christmas & New Year but they were there. We never ever thought we would be using their services again 6 weeks later. However, when Sonia, my sister-in-law, was taken poorly she was taken into the hospice & it was amazing. We were allowed in any time of day & they provided accommodation for immediate family. They looked after both Sonia & us as a family & I cannot find enough words to thank them or describe their fantastic care.
As a family we wanted to raise enough funds for one days care (approximately £11k) but due to Covid this has not been possible. That is why Andy & I have decided to do this. It is only a small gesture in the scheme of things to show our appreciation as they both received about 10 days care but it is better than nothing. When Covid does one we will do bigger & better things.
Thank you to everyone who donates - it means so much to our family. Love you all & hope you all have a happy & peaceful Christmas
