Last Christmas I had the pleasure of visiting New York. The immensity of the buildings and the lights shining everywhere might distract you, but one of the things that stood out for me from that visit was the number of homeless people I walked past daily.

Being back in London I realised that homelessness is also a major issue here. Last year, 1 out of 58 people were homeless in London. Relationship breakdown, redundancy, poor mental health, alcohol/substance addiction, and domestic abuse are just some of the reasons why people end up homeless.

This year, The Pret Foundation is joining forces with Lady Mayoress Felicity Lyons and Lors Mayor Alderman Nicholas Lyons for the second annual Lady Mayoress's Sleep Out.

Taking place at Guildhall Yard overnight on Thursday 16 March 2023, all participants and I will ditch our deliciously warm beds for the night to raise awareness and funds for thousands of Londoners sleeping rough every night.

Any donation, no matter how small, will contribute towards improving the situation for the over 8000 rough sleepers, so please do not hesitate in helping!
