Hello Dear Family and Friends and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Facebook fundraising page.

I recently found out that I was successful in receiving one of 5 golden bond places to run the London Marathon for Ataxia UK.

Now Ataxia Uk is a charity extremely close to my heart. My Mum and my Uncle both have this degenerative disease and it takes over every aspect of their lives.

I don’t really want to sugar coat it so to put it bluntly my mum used to be able to walk, go out with her friends, even simply make a cup of tea; but from 13 years of age she has eventually lost her ability to walk, and simple things such as getting in and out of the bath and making a cup of tea have become fantasies.

Ataxia is the name given to a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination, and speech. Only 10% of people have heard of this disease.

I know that you must get hundreds of charity requests all the time but Ataxia is a very small charity which receives NO government funding so it really is a case that every penny helps fund research to find a cure for this horrible condition.
