Max is getting into the wig-making business for kids with cancer

Cutting off my hair and donating it as a wig for cancer patients · 5 November 2021
I've been growing my hair out since early 2019, initially due to laziness, but then it became a matter of curiosity. What would it be like to have long hair? I did not know.
Surprisingly, my wife liked the idea and encouraged me to go for it (I think she's into that kinda thing...). So here I am, 2 years later, with altogether too much hair. I've been wanting to get rid of it for some time now. Anyone with long hair will agree that it is incredibly inconvenient. The maintenance is unbearable and the hair keeps getting caught in my food, which is less than ideal.
Anyway, my wife said she would only let me get my hair cut if I had a good reason, so when I told her I wanted to donate it as a wig for children who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment, she reluctantly acquiesced.
I started looking into how to go about donating your own hair as a wig. Apparently it's a complicated process, because the wig-makers (wiggers?) must thread EACH individual hair to the base mesh. This takes a lot of time and skill, which is why the cost of a wig is approximately £550. I had no idea.
The Little Princess Trust suggested that I could start a fundraiser to cover the cost of the wig, and hopefully more money to fund further cancer research, so here I am.
Please donate as little as you like or as much as you can. It all goes towards making a sick child happy.
Please note: none of your donations go to me - it all goes to the Little Princess Trust. You are not funding my haircut 😁
