Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·

We provide high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, whilst also supporting their families/carers. The aim is to provide care and support which will improve their quality of life and facilitate a peaceful and dignified death within the patients home.

Story

My Dad had been poorly for several years. During the latter stages of 2021, his health began to deteriorate rapidly and, once it was evident that there was no more medical intervention possible, we wanted to care for him at home.

Whilst caring for him at home, my mum was contacted by the charity Hospice at Home and was offered their help, including overnight support which provided 24 hour care. It is hard to articulate how immensely helpful their support was during this period. Not only was the care provided to my Dad consistently outstanding, they were always kind, friendly and supportive.

It is for this reason I will be running the GNR to raise money for Hospice at Home.
