Story
In 2015 our Great Uncle Andrew was diagnosed with MND, sadly losing his battle in 2017. In 2016 Andrews son, our grandparents, and their friends trekked across the Kalahari desert for 12 days to raise funds for MND research, and we thought if they can do it and they are old, then so can we!
We can't make it to the Kalahari but we can see the East Lomond from our bedroom windows, so we have set that as our summit. In the month of January we will reach the summit 15 times, one for each of the 1st XV Scotland players.
Doddie's story has touched the rugby world and before his diagnosis we understood the pain and suffering MND brings to families. To fearlessly face down his diagnosis and raise £7 million in 3 years for MND research has been mind blowing. And to have done it with smile never far from his lips, and humour punctuating every call to action, Doddie does inspire. #DoddieAID is a way for us all to do our little bit to help him in his quest to find better treatments for this awful condition, and Doddie being Doddie, we hope it is going to be a lot of fun.Doddie AID is an Inter-District exercise challenge running through January until the Calcutta Cup KO. Any exercise counts, and your miles can be logged into your personal total on the trac4good app. And it also goes into your District team total. Come the 6th February 2021, we will see which District has logged the most miles. Though there are a few other criteria to the competition too, such as Conversions! See www.doddieAID.com for all the details and to join in.
