In memory of Max

M E is raising money for The Archie Foundation

Team: Remembering Max Ewen

In memory of Max Ewen
Some babies are born either too soon or too sick and are in need of some extra special care in the neonatal unit. All donations are used to support these babies and their families whilst in the unit.

Story

Max was born 10 weeks early weighing just 2 pounds 8 ounces.

He spent 5 and a half weeks in the neonatal unit. Sadly he developed NEC (you can read more about it here: https://www.bliss.org.uk/parents/about-your-baby/medical-conditions/necrotising-entercolitis-nec) . He went through two emergency surgeries over the course of a week but the condition was too far advanced.

Max passed away in our arms on 27th May. He was a real fighter to the end and we will always be so proud of him. We were able to spend the night with him reading stories, having cuddles and making memories.

We can not fault the kindness and compassion we received at the neonatal unit every single day. Everyone at the unit deserves so much thanks for what they do and their amazing strength. They were like a second family to Max when we couldn’t be there. We cannot thank them enough especially during these times for being there for him and us.

Any donations are helpful and go towards specialist equipment, training for staff, photos, counselling and bursary’s for parents struggling financially.
