The trek begins on December 19th and finishes on December 24th in the most southern town in the world called Puerto Williams.

Why this cause?

It is a simple solution to a huge problem. This donation can make a visible difference, instantly.

Currently, insulin pumps for children with Type 1 Diabetes were identified as the highest priority by the charity. The pump checks blood sugar levels automatically and gives the right amount of insulin. The fund has a whole list of such requests, because each pump costs £2,000, and they deal with them in turn as the money comes in.
Additionally the running costs are approximately £1,000 per year. Western firms loan them out to patients for a time, then take them back, and the patient is back to having to inject insulin several times a day, which is far less successful in controlling the disease.

Where will your money go?
1) Effectively every pound, euro or złoty donated is spent on direct aid to Poland.
2) After a request is approved by the MAPF Committee, the relevant institution or person is given the go-ahead to order the equipment and the supplier sends us a pro-forma invoice. The bill is then paid by MAPF directly to the supplying firm, which is then responsible for delivery, service and guarantees.
3)The procedure is always the same: goods are ordered and then are paid for by MAPF on receipt of the bill. No cash is sent.
