We're here to bridge the gap between needing Mental Health support due to a devastating Duchenne diagnosis and accessing the NHS services families facing Duchenne need. Therapy empowers families to navigate the complexities of DMD with a greater sense of understanding and emotional well-being.

Story

So here we are again, 2 years since Austins diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A horrid muscle wasting disease, utterly heartbreaking. It primarily affects boys and results in loss of strength and weakness in childhood and progresses into adolescence eventually affecting every muscle in the body including the heart and lungs. Its a vile and horrid life limiting illness.

We know scientists around the world are working hard to find treatments for this fatal disease. We have been lucky enough to enrol Austin onto a very prestigious clinical trial at the infamous Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Austin endures a weekly infusion of medicine and has been such a brave boy, our very own superhero! It really is so important to keep raising money so that these trials can happen. Without the money raised it is possible medical trials will be turned away from our hospitals and we cant allow that to happen. This generation of boys could be the first to survive this cruel disease. We stand side by side with Harrisons Fund to fight the fight. I did not give birth to Austin to then allow Duchenne to waltz into his life and steal him away. No way....

I invite you to join me on my journey of madness and support my campaign as set out below. Lets raise as much money and awareness as we possibly can to ensure the medical experts can continue with their crucial work.

I have set myself a rather daunting challenge this year.... I will be running two marathons in 1 week....

Sunday 15th April - BRIGHTON MARATHON (Austins Birthplace) 26.2 miles along the beautiful coastline. This marathon is renowned for its buzzing atmosphere and roaring support

Sunday 22 April - LONDON MARATHON quite possibly the greatest marathon in the world!!

So thats it, this is my challenge for 2018 and I need all the support I can get! Who's with me, who stands by my side?

Thank you so much from the bottom of my big soppy heart!  Please help me to save my son from the horrors of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy xxx
