The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

I am Harry Johnson and currently my 9 year old brother Max is in hospital waiting for a new heart. The hospital is amazing and they are doing all they can for Max but it is in Newcastle, which is 180 miles away from our home in Winsford, Cheshire. In order for the family to be ever present with Max in hospital, the Sick Children’s Trust provide funded accommodation local to the hospital. Without this continuing support, our current situation would be far more difficult than it already is.

The Sick Children’s Trust is a relatively small charity and obviously continually needs funds to maintain the support we, other families and future families will receive.

I would like to raise some money by doing a sponsored 5km run and also by collecting sponsorship for a close family friend Neil Chapman, who is doing a 3.8km open water swim race in Derwent Water.

We have a £2k target in mind, but any donation would be greatly appreciated.

If you think other people you know would like to support our fundraising please direct them to this web page.
