Practical Action is an international development organisation that puts ingenious ideas to work so people in poverty can change their world.

Story

Me, Tim and Gareth will be dropped somewhere in the UK with no money, no phone, no food or water. Our challenge is to make our way back to Portsmouth University Student Union alive... We will have challenges along the as well as working where in the country we are.

Please donate as much as you can, even £1 will go along way to helping out people less fortunate than ourselves. All money we raise will be going to Practical Action.

Practical Action uses technology to challenge poverty in developing countries. They work with the world’s poorest women, men and children in over 40 different countries. Through technology they enable poor communities to build on their skills and knowledge transform their lives. They focus on providing access to clean water and sanitation, helping communities access clean energy to power their homes and schools, teaching people to grow enough to feed their families and preparing communities to defend themselves against natural disasters. By doing this we help around a million people each year break out of the cycle of poverty ….for good.
