Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Here is why I'm giving up a few hours to raise money for Cancer Research.

25 years ago my best friend fell ill. For months he huffed and puffed and lost weight. He had cancer. By the time it was discovered he was fighting a losing battle and he lost his fight in 1990 aged just 21. I've missed him for longer than he was here...

Fast forward 25 years and I am mourning another friend. Val, a larger-than-life force of love and laughter was struck down suddenly by cancer. She didn't have the chance to fight her corner, she was taken from us so suddenly. 

How can 25 years pass and cancer is still as devastating as it was 25 years ago? We've seen the introduction of the world wide web, the internet, mobile phones, personal computers, digital tv, selfies and 3d printers. Technology has boomed but  cancer research has plodded along.

How can that be right? Research is vital. Please, help me raise as much as we can so that in 25 years, my son (and your son, daughter, niece, nephew...) are not also mourning and missing people because of cancer.
