Headstart4Babies is a small charity raising awareness of plagiocephaly and brachycephaly, two little-known skull conditions which can affect young babies. It also provides help and advice to families face with the condition and raises money to assist families on low incomes to proceed with treatment.

Story

Hello there!

My name is Maya and I am 10 months old. I have a twin sister named Lara and a 4 years old brother Matej. Me and my sister were born two months prematurely. I am suffering from severe plagiocephaly which means one side of my head is flat and my right ear and eye pushed forward. I need to wear a special helmet 23 hours  a day for up to six months to correct these problems and to avoid any other facial deformity. The helmet costs £1900 and is not available on the NHS. My mommy and daddy are trying to raise money so I can start the treatment ASAP.
