Chatterbox Goes Silent for the NHS!!! · 15 May 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

My Story

Yesterday I was having a walk by the Avon and I had an idea. We had been seeing hearts with nice messages on them, and one of them said 'Captain Tom = Hero!' and Daddy told me how he'd raised money for healthcare workers.

By the time we got to Tesco in Totterdown, I thought that I should do a sponsored silence (not talking) for a day, to raise money for the NHS.

I just love to talk so much! When I talk I just can't stop and sometimes I don't know what to say - I just say it - and even right now I'm dictating to Daddy, and he can't even keep up with my thoughts as he's writing them down!

Anyway - as we were walking home, all I talked about was doing my sponsored silence. I really wanted to do it. Then just round the corner from home we saw Mrs P., one of the teachers from the school I go to.

I told her about my plan for a sponsored silence and she was amazed! She gave me £10 to give to the NHS. This is what I've raised already and it made me even more determined to do it for real.

I'm really excited to do my sponsored silence as I am a big chatterbox - as you can see from my story above!

I hope my donations will prevent deaths from the coronavirus happening in the UK, and help all the workers in the NHS do all their  jobs more easily.

My Promise

On Friday 15th May I promise not to speak, sing, babble, beatbox, tell jokes, garble, literally not say a single thing from 7.00am until bathtime at 7.00pm.

That's 12 hours of COMPLETE SILENCE!

Mummy and Daddy will be supervising to make sure I keep my promise.

What You Can Do To Help

1. Donate here - I'd like to bust my target of £1,000 before 15th May

2. Help spread the word so I can raise as much as possible

3. Set up your own challenge so we can raise even more [like sitting in a baked bean bath - very common in books - oh, talking about books, I'm happy I know how to read in my head, otherwise I wouldn't be able to read at all either :o) ]
