Simon's MAYhican

MAYhican · 1 May 2020
For some time I’ve been wondering what contribution I can make to our wonderful NHS at this most testing of times.
Like many, I have a young family, a busy job that can’t be done entirely from home and older relations to support. I can’t just drop everything and volunteer my time and skills (!) conventionally, as much as I may want to.
So, while far from novel, I’ve decided to give myself a Mohican, or should I say MAYhican. You’ve all heard of Movember. You get the gist. I am starting to need a hair cut anyway.
On the evening of 1st May, a little under 2 weeks from now as I pen this story, I will be applying clippers to barnet. I’ve never cut my own hair before. I have no idea how this will turn out. I’ll be filming this and putting it all out on FB that evening for the collective amusement of the Great British Public.
In return, I hope that some of you may wish to support me by contributing to the wonderful NHS via JustGiving. I hope to get to £1000. I’ve chucked £100 of my own money in to get this started.
You never know, MAYhican might even become a thing. Particularly for those of us who are missing our barbers, are keen to support our NHS, but feeling a little helpless right now.
At the end of the day, if it’s good enough for BA Baracus it’s good enough for me. He would pity this fool!
