Story

Firstly, Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Those who are close to me and who have known me a long time will know that I haven't had an easy ride in life. Back in 2009 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and after successful treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the Christie, I defeated the dreaded illness.

Fast forward 10 years to 2019, where I was diagnosed with a second
cancer, this time of the thyroid. After successful surgery and treatment, I beat the disease for a second time. None of this would have been possible without the Christie and their amazing staff.

The Christie have helped me get through and survive not one but two previous cancer diagnosis’, and to show my appreciation to them, I want to do something big to challenge myself in order to give something back and say thank you to them and hopefully raise as much money as possible.

I am therefore running 2 marathons within a month of each other (1 to represent each of my cancer survivals). These will be the Manchester Marathon (14th April) and the Leeds Marathon (12th May).

This will be the first time I have ever ran a marathon, with my only previous event being a half marathon so this will be a huge physical challenge.

Any donations to my page would be much appreciated, no matter how small. And together we can all work to end this horrible disease once and for all.
