British 10k London Run 2007 · 1 July 2007 ·
On July 1st, I'll be running in the British 10K London Run with my sister Kirsten and our m8 John. We're trying to raise sponsorship in aid of Missing People (the former National Missing Persons Helpline), a charity that works with young runaways, missing and unidentified people, their families and others who care for them. You'll have seen their posters and adverts: MISSING: CAN YOU HELP?
More than two hundred thousand people go missing each year in the UK. Most of them are found very quickly, but some of them disappear for weeks, or months, or years. They go missing for any number of reasons. Missing People is there for them and their families no matter what the circumstances. There's a brief description of what they do over there in the 'About our charity' section.
My brother Alan (that's him on the left at the top of the page) has been a missing person since November last year. He's no little Maddy: he's 25 years old and 6'4" tall. He's a bit of a runner too: he did the Paris marathon in 3 hours, 18 minutes and 7 seconds. But he'd been ill, and we're worried about him. It's been six months.
Thank you for reading through this and thank you for your support.
Love,
Cal
