Story
A bit more about what i'm doing.......... a 75km bike ride on 24th June 2012 around the Wiltshire countryside starting and finishing at Lydiard Park near Swindon.
And why.......... i'd been thinking for a while about challenging myself when I stumbled across information about Cycletta events and signed up before I thought too much about it and had time to change my mind!
Since then.......... i've been out on my bike at every available opportunity not only getting practice in for this event but also enjoying the fact that I am able to get out and about and enjoy this activity and the amazing countryside around me when so many people can't.
And so.......... i've chosen to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a great charity who you can find out more about at www.macmillan.org.uk. With £5 Macmillan can pay for 70 copies of the The cancer guide which helps those recently diagnosed with cancer to understand more about it, potential treatment and help available to them and their families. With £10 their phone service can help people affected by cancer to understand the benefits they are entitled to. £25 will pay for a Macmillan nurse to provide support to a patient for an hour.
The blurb.......... donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please.......... dig deep and donate anything you can.
