As some of you already know in 2000 I was on a weekend climbing break with my dad (Robert Neville Dixon) and his climbing group "Innominata Mountain Club".  

After an incredible August Bank Holiday weekend climbing and coasteering in Pembrokeshire near to Tenby, we began the last climb before heading home.  Sadly on this occasion, my dad had an accident where part of the cliff face he was attached to came away and he fell onto the rocks and sea below.

Brave efforts were made by those in attendance and the RNLI were fast to respond on a D Class Lifeboat.  I still recall that they were undertaking CPR as they sped away to the hospital to give him the best chance of survival.

Sadly, despite the efforts of all those in attendance and the RNLI the injuries sustained to my father were too severe and he passed away.  

Given my age, at the time (13 years old) it was hard to process the event and consequently, I did not arrange any fundraising back then.  I haven't sought to raise funds previously, however, to mark the 20th anniversary I would like to do just that for the RNLI.  

In memory of my dad who instilled in me a love of the outdoors, I am completing a series of challenges across the year.  The activities will be across running, swimming, and hiking all to raise funds for this fantastic charity that we never know when we will depend upon.
