MEDEQUIP4KIDS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
We are half way through a £250,000 fundraising appeal to provide medical equipment for North Manchester General Hospital's new Women and Children's Unit.
In June 2009, Booth Hall Children's Hospital in Blackley closed its doors after 100 years. A range of local services for children are now being transferred to North Manchester General Hospital in Crumpsall and a purpose-built Women and Children's Unit is currently under construction to open in 2010.
MedEquip4Kids has pledged to raise £250,000 to provide medical equipment and help ensure children and babies receive the best possible care when sick or injured.
Equipment we are funding includes: saturation monitors, syringe pumps, neonatal scales, electronic cots, parent beds, ventilators and much, much more.
We have already funded £160,000 of equipment to be in place in time for when the services start to transfer from Booth Hall to North Manchester in June 2009, and are now working towards reaching our overall target.
Full details about the MedEquip4Kids NMGH Appeal is available from our website, www.medequip4kids.org.uk. Also online are details of our fundraising events, including the BUPA Great North Run, Lancashire Loop Cycle Challenge and parachute jumps.
